- a researched method of treatment for alcoholism and addiction

Recovery Dynamics® was developed by Joe McQuany and the Kelly Foundation, based on the teachings of the 12 steps.

The Recovery Dynamics® model is a method of teaching the principles of the twelve steps. It is sometimes referred to as the “Joe and Charlie” tapes, which are a series of video and audio tapes used to more clearly explain AA philosophy. Joe McQuany started the development of Recovery Dynamics® in 1972 by teaching the principles of the 12 steps of recovery to those in treatment at the Serenity Park rehab centre in Little Rock, Arkansas and the first edition of the program was copyrighted in 1977. In 1978 the Kelly Foundation was incorporated so that other treatment centres could benefit from the implementation of the Recovery Dynamics® Model.

Within the Recovery Dynamics® model each client is directed through the Big Book; this is so they have a clear understanding of its program of recovery from alcoholism and addiction. An addiction specialist will break down the steps (based on the Twelve Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous) into carefully sequenced group sessions.

Your lead addiction specialist will clearly explain each step in the 12 Steps and why it is important and necessary for your recovery to complete each step. We use interactive lectures and therapy sessions to educate clients on completing each step and what the result should be once completed.

The goal is for clients to understand, accomplish and complete each of the 12 Steps leaving them able to identify their problems, characterise the solution and implement actions and a solution that enables them to live a sober and clean life in recovery.
