Recovery Dynamics®

A researched method of treatment for alcoholism and addiction

Recovery Dynamics Twelve Steps Therapy

The Twelve Steps are a popular set of principles for recovering from alcoholism and addiction, that have been successfully transferred to compulsive disorders and behavioural problems.

They are used worldwide to treat millions of people with all kinds of addictive disorders, and it is one of the most widely-used techniques in rehab centres around the globe.

After completing the Twelve Steps with Recovery Dynamics®, you can identify your problems, devise solutions, and take actions to thrive sober using a simple step-by-step process.

The first principle of the Twelve Steps is admitting that you cannot control your addictive behaviour.

Most addicts begin in denial of how uncontrollable their addiction is, leaving them unable to fix it. Step One lays bare the full consequences of their behaviour to break through denial.

This admission of powerlessness is the starting point that allows you to overcome addiction.

The next steps draw on your individual beliefs to identify some power, community or faith to strengthen you, whether it is religious, spiritual or personal.

The Twelve Steps then examine your feelings and behaviour in depth, admitting and making amends for mistakes in the past and identifying harmful patterns that need to change. Finally, you learn to live with a new code of behaviour that brings value and purpose to your life and others.

The Twelve Steps

01
We admitted we were powerless over alcohol - that our lives had become unmanageable
02
Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity
03
Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.
04
Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.
05
Admitted to God, to ourselves and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.
06
Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.
07
Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.
08
We admitted we were powerless over alcohol - that our lives had become unmanageable
09
Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.
10
Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it.
11
Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.
12
Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to alcoholics and to practice these principles in all our affairs.

Recovery Dynamics®

The Twelve Steps were coined in the 1930s by two alcoholics who discovered that this process works where medicine and psychiatry had failed, and founded Alcoholics Anonymous to share it. Recovery Dynamics® was developed in 1972 to teach the Twelve Steps to patients at a rehab in Little Rock, USA, and the Kelly Foundation was created to share its success with other treatment centres. Our own lead Addiction Therapists Chris Spencer and Anita Cragen trained in Recovery Dynamics® in 2015 at Little Rock itself with the leading experts in this technique.

A new way of life begins here at our specialist addiction rehab centre offering world class treatment.
